Research institutes always advocate something. Each has a particular economic or social, political, or philosophical perspective. Many explicitly advocate for this perspective.

  • A public policy research organization dedicated to informing and stimulating the debate on public policy issues of critical importance to women and their families. IWPR focuses on issues of poverty and welfare, employment and earnings, work and family issues, the economic and social aspects of health care and domestic violence, and women's civic and political participation.

  • A nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy research organization at Bard College. It strives to carry on Jerome Levy's spirit of independent thinking and concern for economic efficiency and justice; and his belief in the potential of economics to make a positive contribution to society and to improve the human condition.
